Capt. Anthony Henry Evelyn Ashley
Coldstream Guards 2nd son of
The RT. Honble. Evelyn Ashley.
Born Feb 25 1894 died Jan. 14 1921 from the
result of wounds recieved at Ypres, May 1916.
Marble plaque in Chapel of Ethelfleda.

To the Glory of God

John Pace,
only son of C. & E.L. Pace of this town
who was wounded in action
at Kemmel Hill
29th April and died 1st May 1918,
aged 33 years.
Interred at Arneke British Military Cemetery
in Northern France.

He was six years sacristan of this church.

In affectionate remembrance of
Charles Townsend Cobbold, 2nd Lieut. R.F.A.
27th Battery aged 23 * who fell in action on
3rd Oct. 1916 near Les Boeufs France. Youngest
son of A. Hills. Cobbold, and only son of Ellen
Cobbold of Brownhill House, Nursling, Hants.
Quo fas et gloria ducunt.

loving memory
of
Arthur Henry Footner
2nd Lieut. 1st Battn. Essex Regiment
Second son of the late Henry Footner
and
grandson of the late George Bright Footner
of Romsey, Hampshire.
Who, in answer to his country's call served with the Ceylon
Contingent in Egypt and in the Suez Canal: became attached to
the New Zealand Expeditionary Force: took part in the original
landing on the Gallipoli peninsula at Gaba Tepe on Sunday the
25th of April 1915: served on the peninsula at Anzac for several
months: was subsequently gazetted to the 1st Battn. Essex Regiment
one of the four Battalions of the 88th Infantry Brigade of the
famous 29th division: and was ultimately killed while gallantly
leading his men in an assult on a Turkish trench near
Cape Helles on the 6th August 1915.
Aged 27.

Loved by all who knew him and greatly missed.
This tablet is erected by his Mother, brother and sisters.

In loving memory of
Lieut. Athelstan Key Durance George
late of the 1st Battalion Dorset Regiment
who fell mortally wounded at the Battle
of Marne in France on September 14 1914
during "The Great War" aged 27 years and was buried at Coulommiers
He was the second son of Arthur Durance and Charlotte Ada George
and grandson of Josiah and Rachel Olive George of this parish.
